The Arts at Gateway

The arts are an important part of the life of the church.

Arts expressions include:

Music

          A blend of music during worship celebrations

          Choral anthems under the direction of Cathy Susan Pyles

Gateway Performance Series

           Our annual concert and performance series began in 2009, and continues to bring great creativity to offer to the community.  Our 2026 season is in the planning stages, headed up by our Artistic Director, Dr. Alan Chan.  Once the series is set, there will be more information and a link to purchase tickets on the Gateway Performance Series tab.

Drama

          The Scripture as Theatre Workshop is a gathering that works to produce scripts that explore the connection between scripture and imagination, and that then presents those plays on Zoom.  More information can be found on the Events and Gatherings tab.

Literature

          The Off the Shelf Book Club promotes reading and discussing books in a wide variety of genres, with many selections being novels and biographies.  More information about the current selection is on the Events and Gatherings tab.

Film

          We screen films and engage in conversations about the themes that emerge and the ways in which films can connect with us beyond mere enjoyment.

Visual Arts

          Our resident artist, Alexi Pyles, has created numerous works for us, mostly recently in honor of the church's 75th Anniversary.

          Past workshops have included creating projects using mosaics.
